For online donations, The Arc of Dauphin County has teamed with PayPal to simplify your donations.  PayPal is one of the most popular Internet-based forms of online purchasing. If you're already a member of PayPal you can immediately login and use your account to direct your donation to The Arc.   If you're not yet a member of PayPal the folks there will quickly and easily guide you through the process of creating an account with them and then completing your donation to The Arc.

EITC Contribution

The Arc of Dauphin County has been approved as an Educational Improvement Organization. Through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program The Arc of Dauphin County has been approved as one of the organizations that can receive EITC monies to support school aged students. There are so many opportunities for you to get involved with The Arc! From clean-up at Camp Sertoma to fundraising campaigns and office tasks.

Donate your used car, van, truck, boat with a trailer, or recreational vehicle to The Arc of Dauphin County, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Vehicle donations made to The Arc are tax deductible. Our organization has been designated by the IRS as a 501c (3) charity. The best practice is to consult with a tax professional on how to maximize your tax deduction since every car donation and tax situation is unique. In general, the IRS limits the tax deduction to the gross proceeds from the sale of the car, truck, or other vehicle. Charitable contributions must be itemized on Schedule A of Form 1040 to qualify. If the gross proceeds exceed $500, Form 1098C “Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes” and Form 8283 "Non Cash Charitable Contributions", must also be completed and attached. Forms 1098C and 8283 are required to be provided to the donor within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle.

Maximize Your Car Donation Tax Deduction in Moments
Simply call our toll free number at 1-877-ARC-CAR0, (1-877-272-2270) with the year, make and model of your vehicle, the general condition, the vehicle identification number, and with title and lien in hand or donate online at www.baltimorearc.org and we will handle the rest. Our friendly operators are glad to answer any questions you may have. They will arrange a convenient time for free auto towing, and mail your required tax form documentation within four to six weeks.
The Arc of Baltimore and The Arc of the United States have partnered with Melwood Charity Car Donation Center, a non-profit agency, to manage and operate our vehicle donation program. Melwood, since 1963 has provided job training and employment for over 2,000 individuals with disabilities.

During the year, The Arc of Dauphin County offers more than 1,500 hours of camping and other activities that are enjoyable to consumers, and also provides respite for their families. Sometimes the greatest barrier to accessing these programs is financial. Through the “Gift of Time” registry, you can earmark funds for a specific consumer, making it possible for him/her to attend a class, camp, or any of The Arc’s activities. It’s a gift that helps the whole family!
